ALLPARTS Jari Techniek keeps a grip on change with adaptable components

Van der Poel is increasingly noticing that the current system lacks flexibility to respond to changes. “I want to make sure everyone can do their job properly,” he enthusiastically expresses his ambition in his work. However, it has often lacked good links with external systems, such as suppliers' catalogues or systems of chain partners. The possibilities to adapt the system to the needs of employees and to the dynamics of the market were also regularly lacking. “When you want something different, you're always dependent on others. And then you have problems with communication, time and money.”

In recent years, he has built various additions to the package to meet the needs of the organization. That worked out well, but Van der Poel concluded at one point that he was only developing new functionality. He no longer got around to his main tasks, such as setting up data management and creating an overview. Looking for alternatives to the current application, he found Novulo's application composition platform.

No dependency on external developers

The choice for Novulo is mainly based on its modular design and low-code options. This allows Van der Poel to set up and adapt processes himself, without always being dependent on external developers. “That fits exactly what I'm looking for: You still need to be reasonably technical to do it, but with the low-code concept, I don't have to worry about how something is built anymore.” Novulo's reference architecture ensures that each component meets the platform's standards. Before a component is placed in the store, it is subject to strict quality control. With thousands of components available in the store, it is so easy and fast to build or change reliable new applications.

The migration at ALLPARTS Jari Techniek is now about to begin. The goal is to make the switch all at once. Van der Poel does not think it is a good idea to use two systems side by side for some time. The necessary functions must be available when going live. The attractive extras will come at a later stage.

Automate more administrative processes

The migration process is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year. He has confidence in the technology, but expects that a lot of attention should be paid to the adoption of the new system by the users within ALLPARTS Jari Techniek. “I'm going to do my best to set it up as well as possible, but anyway, users will end up in a completely different environment than they're used to. For some, this is a lot easier than for others. That's going to be the challenge for me, but I also see it a bit as a sport, you know.” Many people are expected to notice that their administrative tasks will be easier because many more processes can run automatically with the Novulo platform. An intuitive interface also provides much more clarity about what steps an employee should take in the process.

Novulo has a basis for the automotive sector

In the coming period, it should also become clear whether new additions to the Novulo platform are needed to accommodate all desired functions in the new system. Novulo already has a large number of customers in the automotive sector. As a result, a basic structure has been created for these companies, including, for example, a central article database. There are also various specialized components in the store. Van der Poel: “From there, we will continue to work.” He sees himself playing an active role in this, including when modifying parts or building new components. “If I can't do something today and I'll be able to do something in two weeks, I'll enjoy it. That ability to adjust yourself is of course very cool.”
