JW Volmacht

Five months. That’s how long JW Volmacht needed to grow from a blank canvas into a fully operational insurance application. The new delegated authority company of JW Verzekeringen started with Novulo in June 2025 to build a complete front, mid, and back office on a single platform. The ambition: excellent digital self-service for customers who are always on the move. Full control over the insurance process. And a modern way of working and communicating. They went live in November.

Excellent digital service delivery

JW Volmacht focuses on commercial motor insurance a target group that is always on the move. They are easily reachable in the evenings and on weekends and primarily communicate via WhatsApp. For this audience, speed is essential: from applying for insurance to driving away insured, everything must be arranged within minutes. Self-service is a basic expectation.

That ambition requires full control over the insurance process. How do you collect payments? When does a customer receive their green card? How do you communicate via WhatsApp, email, or a portal? With existing systems, you quickly run into limitations. You have to adapt to the system, not the other way around.

That’s why JW Volmacht chose Novulo. Not to buy software that more or less fits, but to obtain a platform that allows them to define the entire process from A to Z themselves ready for modern ways of working and communicating with the end customer.

Remco Teerhuis, initiator of JW Volmacht: “The market is digitizing faster than most systems can handle. With our own delegated authority and the Novulo platform, we gain full control and have more room for innovation. We decide ourselves how we communicate with customers, how quickly they can get on the road, and how we design our processes for each target group. No more compromises.”

From selection to go-live in five months

After conversations with several vendors, the choice fell on Novulo. Other platforms could not meet all requirements or required implementation timelines that were too long. Novulo offered what JW Volmacht was looking for: a fast start with standard components specifically for delegated authority companies, combined with the freedom to add functionality themselves—such as HubSpot integrations and a WhatsApp integration. Customization where needed, without building everything from scratch.

Hybrid collaboration for maximum control

Insurance Data supported JW Volmacht as an implementation partner. They translated insurance processes into technical configurations and were available on demand often on Wednesdays, when the insurance specialists community meets at Novulo.

“That hybrid approach worked perfectly,” says Bart de Jong of Insurance Data. “Dennis from JW built most of it himself, and we stepped in where insurance expertise was needed. That way, you set your own pace and keep all the knowledge in-house.”

After five months, a complete delegated authority application was live: from policy administration and automated collections to claims handling, accounts receivable management, and reporting for insurers.

Dennis Spaan, Technical Director of JW Volmacht: “What immediately stands out is the flexibility and freedom you have to fully tailor everything to your own needs. You start with proven components and add exactly what you require. No outdated remote desktop solutions, but a modern, web-first platform that you configure yourself. That freedom makes the difference.”

Control translates into customer value

With the live application, JW Volmacht has exactly what they wanted: full control over how the insurance process runs and how they communicate with customers. That control translates directly into tangible benefits:

  • Differentiation by risk group
JW Volmacht can determine how the collection process works for each customer segment. For some groups: payment upfront. For others: payment after the fact. This flexibility is essential in a market where payment behavior varies greatly by target group.
  • On the road immediately
A customer takes out a policy, pays for example via an iDEAL payment link received through WhatsApp and within minutes receives their policy document and green card. Ready to hit the road.
  • Self-service tailored to the target audience
Taxi drivers and couriers often work in the evenings and on weekends. They don’t have time for office hours or waiting for a phone response. The platform will soon offer full self-service: access to policy documents, invoices for the accountant, and submitting changes. WhatsApp payment links already enable customer-friendly and fast collections. The platform fits the way the target audience works.
  • Data ownership
All data on a single platform. That means real-time analytics, fast reporting, and full control over decision-making. JW Volmacht can immediately demonstrate compliance to insurers and does not have to rely on external systems or part
Dennis Spaans: “We want to deliver excellent digital services. That means self-service, speed, and everything in one place. With Novulo, we can make that happen. And that’s exactly what our target audience needs.”

A platform that grows with ambitions

JW Volmacht is starting with commercial motor insurance, but the platform is built to scale along with future ambitions. Adding new product lines? No rebuilding required. Adjusting workflows? Instantly configurable. Expanding into other markets? The foundation is already in place.

That flexibility translates directly into customer value: responding faster to customer needs, adapting processes more easily, and launching products exactly when the market demands them.

And this is only the beginning, new markets, international ambitions, and continuous daily improvements to better serve customers. That’s what a platform delivers when it grows alongside your organization.

Remco Teerhuis: “We’re only just getting started. New products, new markets we set the pace ourselves. The platform grows with every ambition. Exactly why we chose it.”
