EFO Horse Insurance chooses Novulo as new insurance platform

EFO Horse Insurance is modernizing the entire insurance chain with Novulo's insurance platform. The specialized insurer is renewing its entire back, mid and front offices, exchanging a CCS-based landscape for one integrated platform. With the standard setup for insurers, including pre-configured data sets, composition and configuration, EFO can immediately build on proven best practices.

EFO Horse Insurance chooses Novulo as new insurance platform

The entire insurance chain will soon run entirely on one platform. This allows EFO to work more efficiently and optimize its online services. In addition, the platform offers space to organize products more logically and ensures a strong, future-proof connection between the front and back offices.

A platform that treats horses like horses

EFO offers a broad portfolio of horse insurance. EFO's current back office system was not able to properly support all variants when it came to product design. This resulted in complex registrations, fragmented product variants and many manual steps. In addition, employees were unable to work efficiently because processes were spread across multiple systems, there were no workflows and many steps had to be done manually.

One platform for the entire chain

With Novulo, EFO gets a data model that does suit their daily practice. The uniform data model and flexible product design are in line with their daily practice. The platform also supports extensive automation with workflows, triggers and task-driven work, making processes faster, more consistent and less error-prone. Acceptors and claims handlers will soon work in one integrated environment with all relevant information immediately available, which further reduces processing times.

Realization by an ecosystem of partners

The new insurance application is being developed in collaboration with two Novulo partners. Insurance Data implements the platform and manages it, while Insync creates the application street and customer portal. EFO takes care of part of the functional management itself. This creates a complete chain solution built on one platform, supported by a specialized ecosystem.

Agile future for a specialist insurer

With 10 employees, EFO is a compact but highly specialized insurer. Their expertise requires software that reinforces their way of working. With Novulo, EFO can adapt products when the market requires it, refine processes and grow without starting over.

Jan-Jouke Bouma, Director at EFO Horse Insurance: “Our insurances are fully focused on the world of horses. This requires software that evolves with our practice. With Novulo, we get a platform that supports our products as we offer them and that gives us space to automate processes smartly. That's exactly what we need for the next phase of our growth.”

Frank Wille, founder and director of Novulo: “EFO shows beautifully why a composable platform is so powerful. You build specialist products in one place, with one data model and one shared process layer. This way, they digitize the entire chain without additional complexity and remain agile in a specialist market.”
